MerchBazaar
Project Overview
MerchBazaar is a mobile app to enable collectors and fans to purchase their favourite music merchandise through the comfort of their home. It allows users to buy merchandise as well as records and pay using a hassle-free method.
TimeLine: May 2021 - July 2021
Role: User Research, User Design (Wireframing and Prototyping), User Interface Design and Iterations
The problem I focused on
Unavailability of a platform for Indie Musicians to sell concert merchandise, has left their listeners frustrated. Offline markets usually plagiarize original designs and dupe listeners into buying merchandise at a much higher cost.
MerchBazaar focuses on helping artists connect and communicate with their audience and sell concert merchandise in a hassel-free way.
Pain Points
Starting the Design Journey
Redefining the designs
A second round of the usability studies helped refine the final designs and provided these insights:
Users wanted the light and dark theme- accessibility option more easily available
Users want a way to return to the home page after the confirmation page
Users did not figure out how to use the colour option on apparel
Reflection
This was my first UX project as a part of the UX Design Certification by Google and helped me learn a lot about approaching and solving design problems. A peer mentioned that they “loved the dark interface and would love to use it to buy some concert merchandise”
For my next project, I would:
Play around with whitespaces and create minimalistic designs
Conduct an extensive usability study involving more users to help me iterate my designs
Explore designing a concept on various screens including web design
